Rocky, I think you are the one who doesn’t really know what’s going on and you ought to do more research. I also highly praised FED technology, so what, what does that have to do with Sony’s decision to not continue their development or for that matter – how is that embarassing to anyone who praised them. SED and FED displays would have been so close that you would not have been able to tell the difference.

I don’t have a problem with Canon using China to manufacture affordable SED displays. Who isn’t using China now a days.

Ok, Plasma is gone, LCD have an awful picture (unless you are watching HD pictures), OLED will take another 4 or 5 years…. What’s going to happen now??? This is probably the most strange situation ever in TV technology. Will we go back to CRT TV sets?

I just had my first look at the Sony XBR8 triluminous LED backlit LCD TV. Very impressive with just the short demo they had. $4999 for a 40″ here in Canada though. I’ll have to wait a bit.

The problem appears that by the time Canon will be ready new tech will be available to compete with it. I’ve already seen smaller OLED screens for sale commercially. LED back lit LCD’s are proving a vast improvement CF LCD’s.

Canon, you are our last hope!

I refuse to buy an LCD because of the bad black levels, bad viewing angles and horrible response times. Even the 2ms screens aren´t even close to fast enough. Plasmas are better but i refuse to game on a screen with phosphor trails.

Something needs to happen because images in motion took a huge step back with the introduction of plasmas and LCD:s. After all, images in motion is what televisions are all about.

Hi again “Rocky”. I thought you’d stopped visiting a while ago. If you’re so dead set against any mention of technology other than SED, you’re free to leave us alone and start your own site.

But thanks for adding another comment. I also look forward to seeing SED TV produced in the near future wherever it’s manufactured.

Gee, “rocky” sure sounds like a real winner. In no way am I able to see how FET’s inability to obtain funding is an embarrasment to the admin of this site. FED was going to be a superior technology. The people who refused to give the loans are shortsighted in this aspect. The economy WILL turn around and that money would have been made back in spades.
